How to read the code 53KHEFT12N8-708F
The code is not random; reading it lets you make sure you are comparing the same model at any seller (per the brand's Egyptian models):
- 53 = the Carrier Egypt model prefix
- K = cool only
- 12 = cooling capacity in thousands of BTU (12,000 BTU/hr ≈ 1.5 HP)
- N = fixed-speed compressor
The right space for 1.5 HP
Using our approved heat-load method (length × width × height × a factor of 300 / 350 / 400 BTU/m³ depending on exposure), this capacity covers 11 to 14 m² at a 2.8 m ceiling. This is the most requested capacity for bedrooms, small offices and kids' rooms. A large west-facing window or a top-floor room usually calls for the next size up rather than losing cooling in August. Large glazing, a kitchen and the number of occupants raise the load, so confirm with a real calculation: how engineers pick the right AC capacity · what HP and BTU mean · the AC calculator.
What makes the difference in operation
This unit cools only and has no heating mode. That makes sense in rooms heated by another source or not used in winter, and it saves the price gap against the cool & heat version.
Fixed-speed compressor: it runs at full capacity and stops when the set temperature is reached. It costs less than the inverter at the same capacity and is simpler to service, but consumption is higher if the unit runs many hours a day.
The Carrier X-Cool New series
X-Cool New is the latest generation of the X-Cool series with a fixed-speed compressor and R32 refrigerant. It sits between Optimax and the inverters: newer finish and newer refrigerant without the inverter price. Our range has 6 models in this series from 1.5 to 3 HP, and this model is the smallest capacity in the series. All models are in the X-Cool New category · all Carrier prices.
When to choose it
You would choose this model when heating is not needed or another heat source already exists. And the space is 11 to 14 m² with an external wall close by for the pipe route. If either of those does not apply to you, look at the alternatives in the table below before paying.

Price against capacity
A simple measure that compares prices fairly: divide the unit price by its rated capacity. 53KHEFT12N8-708F costs EGP 22,715 for 12,000 BTU, which means 1,893 EGP per 1,000 BTU.
| This model | EGP 1,893 per 1,000 BTU |
| Average across our wall-mounted split range (44 models) | EGP 1,971 |
| Cheapest model of the same type | EGP 1,570 |
| Most expensive model of the same type | EGP 2,652 |
That figure sits close to the average for its type with us (only 4% apart), so the price is consistent with the rest of the range rather than an outlier either way.
How we carry out the installation
With a wall split, the position of both units affects cooling more than anything else: the indoor unit facing the length of the room rather than a closed corner, the outdoor unit in open air away from sun reflected off a facing wall, and the shortest practical pipe run between them.
We work to approved specifications and fixed steps, not improvisation: South African or Swedish copper in the right sizes, full Armaflex insulation on both lines, a dry-nitrogen pressure test then a micron vacuum before charging, a correct drain slope that prevents dripping, and photo documentation of every stage on our system. The unit price includes delivery only within our service areas; installation, commissioning, warranty activation and after-sales service are a separate paid service, written clearly in the quotation together with any extra pipe length, preparation, chasing or scaffolding the site needs.

Common questions about the Carrier X-Cool New 1.5 HP Cool Only Split AC
How big a room does the Carrier X-Cool New 1.5 HP Cool Only Split AC cover?
This capacity (1.5 HP ≈ 12,000 BTU) covers 11 to 14 m² at a 2.8 m ceiling, based on 300 to 400 BTU per cubic metre. On a top floor or a sunny façade treat it as the minimum, and you can check with the AC calculator.
What is the price of the Carrier X-Cool New 1.5 HP Cool Only Split AC today?
EGP 22,715 for the unit including delivery only within our service areas (updated 12 September 2026). Installation, commissioning, warranty activation and after-sales are a separate paid service, written clearly in the quotation before any work.
What does the code 53KHEFT12N8-708F mean?
The code summarises the model: the Carrier prefix 53, K = cool only, the number 12 = 12,000 BTU (1.5 HP), and N = fixed-speed compressor. Details in the code section above.
This model uses R32 — what does that mean?
R32 is the newer generation: higher efficiency, a smaller charge and lower environmental impact, and it needs a technician trained for it because it is mildly flammable. The full comparison is in R32 versus R410A.
Does this unit need a special power supply?
No. It runs on single-phase / 220 V, the normal apartment supply, with no meter change. The run from the meter to the unit and any electrical work are priced separately.
Can I buy the unit and have someone else install it?
Of course; the price covers the unit and delivery only. Keep in mind that installation quality is what actually decides the compressor's life: the nitrogen pressure test, micron vacuum and full insulation are not cosmetic details, and warranty activation happens at commissioning.
